Apple have announced a new repair program for the following models:
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Two Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
MAC|SYS can of course offer repairs of these completely free under the repair program. Just bring in your machine any time between 10-6, Monday to Friday. Turnaround will normally be around 2-3 working days.
To give you some more detail on this, it's to address backlight problems that these models may exhibit.
The issues that are covered are, quoting Apple's support article (linked to below):
"Display backlight continuously or intermittently shows vertical bright areas along the entire bottom of the screen or Display backlight stops working completely".
We've included a picture of the first issue so that people can see what this normally looks like - it's sometimes referred to as the 'Stage Light' effect.
In the other instance the screen backlight fails completely, but if you shine a bright light on the screen you can faintly make out the expected video output.
Full details of the program can be found here
